DHRC History

The Club was organized in 1995 under the name Dwyer Hill Horse and Pony Club.  The first shows were hosted by Double J Stables at Four Island Farm.  The original club colours were dark and light blue.  In 1999 the shows were moved to Ashland Farm and the club name changed to Dwyer Hill Riding Club with new club colours, hunter green and tan. In 2000 the shows were relocated to the present location at the Richmond Fairgrounds.  The Club Presidents were as follows: Janice Jackson (95-97), Kathy McBride (98-99), Rhonda Pretty (00), Corrine Reid (01), Lise Clark (02-03), Wayne Byrne (04), Angie Snyder (05-06), Leanne Karoles (07-08), Kim Argue (09-10).

The mission of the Club is to provide an encouraging atmosphere for youth and adults, regardless of experience.  To promote good horsemanship and sportsmanship through the enjoyment of entry level competition.  The Club follows the AQHA rules as its guideline.
